Po opravljenem izpitu BEC Higher je znanje udeležencev primerljivo z znanjem stopnje CAE, s poudarkom na poslovni angleščini. Udeleženci se v delovnem okolju v angleščini sporazumevajo vajeno, jasno in suvereno. Izpit BEC Higher preizkuša bralno in slušno razumevanje, pisanje ter govor na ravni C1.

Izpit BEC Higher se izvaja v klasični papirni obliki (Paper based - PB) ali prek računalnika (Computer based - CB), s čimer se je skrajni rok za prijavo na izpit močno približal datumu izpita, precej hitreje pa so na voljo tudi rezultati. Od prijave na izpit do objave rezultatov lahko tako mine samo 5 tednov!

The Business English Certificate Higher certifies that candidates are on the same level as those taking the CAE, however with emphasis on Business English. The BEC Higher enables successful candidates to argue their points in an everyday business environment and to express themselves clearly and in detail on a wide range of subjects.

The BEC Higher is taken by professionals with a very good education in English and is a popular qualification with employers.

Four papers: Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking

Reading (1 hour)

Reading
This is a matching task involving either a single text or five related shorter texts. These could be a set of related product descriptions, a set of advertisements (for instance, for different types of services), notices, book reviews, short newspaper items on related topics or a single magazine article divided into five sections.

Writing (1 hour 10 min.)
For BEC Higher, you have to produce two pieces of writing:

• a short report based on graphic input

and one of the following:

• a longer report
• a piece of business correspondence
• a proposal

Listening (40 min. aprox.)
In the Listening section of the exam BEC Higher there are three tasks (multiple-choice, gap-filling and formfilling). Texts used are monologues and dialogues, including interviews, discussions, telephone conversations and messages.

Speaking (16 min.)
The Speaking test is conducted by two external examiners and you will be tested in pairs of candidates. At centres with an uneven number of candidates, the last single candidate is examined in a group of three.

Glavna razlika je v tem, da se preskus branja, pisanja in poslušanja opravlja na računalniku v računalniški učilnici. Preskus govorjenja pa še vedno izvajajo izpraševalci na enak način kot prej.
