Izpit KET za osnovnošolce je po vsebini prilagojen osnovnošolski mladini od 13 do 15 let. Izpit PET preizkuša uporabo vsakdanje angleščine na ravni B2.

Izpit KET za osnovnošolce se izvaja v klasični papirni obliki (Paper based - PB) ali prek računalnika (Computer based - CB), s čimer se je skrajni rok za prijavo na izpit močno približal datumu izpita, precej hitreje pa so na voljo tudi rezultati. Od prijave na izpit do objave rezultatov lahko tako mine samo 5 tednov!

The KET - Cambridge KEY English Test is the first level of Cambridge ESOL Exams. It is an elementary level exam, set at level A2 of the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework for modern languages. KET recognises the ability to cope with everyday written and spoken communications at a basic level.

KET enables candidates to demonstrate a level of English that is useful when travelling in English speaking countries.

The content and treatment of topics in PET for Schools have been particularly targeted at the interests and experience of school pupils.

KET for Schools has three papers: Reading & Writing, Listening and Speaking

Reading & Writing (1 Hour and 10 min.)
Candidates need to be able to understand simple written information such as signs, brochures, newspapers and magazines. They will also have to fill gaps in simple sentences and write a short message or note of 25-35 words.

Listening (30 min.)
Candidates need to show their ability to understand announcements and other spoken material when spoken reasonably slowly.

Speaking (8-10 min.)
Candidates need to demonstrate that they can take part in a conversation by answering and asking simple questions. They take the Speaking test with another candidate or in a group of three.

Glavna razlika je v tem, da se preskus branja, pisanja in poslušanja opravlja na računalniku v računalniški učilnici. Preskus govorjenja pa še vedno izvajajo izpraševalci na enak način kot prej.
